The Crow [Blu-ray + Digital Copy] Description
AC-3; Color; Dolby; DTS Surround Sound; Subtitled; Widescreen.Condition: New.Format: Blu-ray. The Crow set the usual for darkish and violent comic-book films (like Spawn or director Alex Proyas's sophisticated follow-up, Dark City), however it'll forever be remembered as the movie throughout which big name Brandon Lee (son of martial arts legend Bruce Lee) was once by accident killed on the set by way of a loaded gun. The filmmakers were able to digitally pattern what they'd captured of Lee's performance and piece together enough pictures to make the movie releasable. Indeed, it is most likely more interesting for that post-production story than for the story on the display. The Crow is accurately cloaked in ominous expressionistic shadows, oozing urban dread and occult threat from every dank concrete crack, but it in point of fact adds up to a easy and perfunctory tale of formality revenge. Guided by a portentous crow (standing in for Poe's raven), Lee plays a deceased rock musician who returns from the grave to systematically torture and kill the outlandishly violent gang of hoodlums who murdered hellom and hellos fiancée the yr before. The movie is price observing for its compelling visibles and genuinely nightmarish, otherworldly ambience..

Reviews for The Crow (Collector's Series Boxed Set) (DVD) Excellent field set... nonetheless in my top 10 over 7 years after my initial Amazon review. The O'Barr interview continues to be a treasured highlight, and City of Angels has even grown on me considerably through the years (can't say the related for the latter two films within the series).
Now if shall we just get a restored, uncut model of City of Angels in the marketplace...
Reviews for The Crow (Collector's Series Boxed Set) (DVD) Fans have no longer been able to see and listen to THE CROW movies like this before (in the case of Salvation, that is its intro). The Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound & DTS 5.1 Digital Surround Sound further improve the influence on the senses (the films are viewable in Widescreen 1.85:1 or full screen Enhanced 16x9). The image is flawless and the soundtracks gloriously spring from the speakers with added energy.
Reviews for Crow (DVD) For those of you don't know this film is Brandon Lee's closing. Tragically, he died during the last days of filming. This film would have catapulted Brandon Lee into major-stardom.Knowing this handiest makes the movie darker, sadder, and more heart-wrenching.Based on the comic e-book sequence of the same name with the support of James O'Barr, the movie stays with reference to its comedian book roots. Dark imagery, up-close shots, and stark contrasts add to the comic book feel and gothic seem to be of the movie. The song in the movie, both soundtrack and tunes, convey thoughts and imagery. The Crow is a narrative of affection and revenge, loss and retribution. It is a portrait of the war between the ache of seeing the previous, and the peace of gaining closure. Director Alex Proyas did a fantastic job of capturing this conflict on movie. While the bulk of the aiding solid is on the very least plausible, Michael Wincott is disturbingly creepy as the main antagonist "Top Dollar." Ernie Hudson, here taking section in a cop who supposes he's seeing a ghost, delivers a good efficiency.
But the film is ALL Brandon Lee. He introduced hellos martial artworks background and skill to this film and gave 200%. He used to be also the film's fight choreographer. This means: sit down up and watch! This movie is 80% motion, 5% comedy, and 15% heart-wrenching, tear-jerking tragedy. Be prepared to sit down on the edge of your seat, and use up a field of kleenex.
